IS IT TRUE THAT AI ART IS NOT ART AND YOU ARE DAMAGED IF YOU LIKE IT

THE CLAIM

Artificial intelligence can easily copy the look of a beautiful painting or write a grammatically perfect movie script. But despite how polished it looks, AI-generated content can never be true art. More importantly, if we train ourselves to be fully satisfied by these machine-made copies, we risk doing real damage to our own empathy and spirit.

True art is not just about the final product; it is about human connection. When an artist paints a canvas or writes a song, they are sharing a piece of their soul, their struggles, and their lived experiences. AI has no soul, no feelings, and no consciousness.

When we enjoy real art, we are participating in a deep relationship with the creator be it human or ultimately God. Listening to Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony or watching a deeply moving film allows us to share the artist's experience of life, grief, or joy. AI deforms our capacity for genuine human empathy. If someone reaches a point where they genuinely cannot see or care about the difference between a human's raw emotional expression and a sterile computer printout, they have become numb. Accepting machine output as a substitute for human soulfulness and feeling is ultimately cheapening what it means to be human.

THE REPLY

But AI ultimately came from humans!  Beethoven is not giving you any music. Copiers are.  The logic implies that a person who looks at beauty and art and who does not believe firmly that it ultimately came from God is defective and damaged.

People taking a lot of drink and drugs are not themselves and yet we enjoy their music.

A lot of opposition to AI is really down to how handled correctly it refutes all the ideological and religious lies going about.
