Look up your Qur'an.
Allah is not a relationship God. He simply cannot be the friend or father
of parent of anybody. Not Jesus, not Muhammad, not anybody. Allah is stated
not to be a father 111.3. This is important for in those days parents died
young and many fathers adopted their children. So it is not about biological
fathers only. Christians say that God is our father in adoption. 5:18 is clear
that Allah punishes all for their sins so that means nobody can say they are
his children. Allah commands, "Say you are human beings from among the
creatures he has created." Never say, "We are the children of God and his
beloved." The implication is that claiming to be children of God is
unnecessarily divisive and arrogant.
Religionists are usually affirmed for
they offer a relationship with a transcendent power. The implication is that a
moderate religion will seek friendship with it and the wider community.
But moderate religion does not censor the bad influences in its tradition and scriptures. It lies to pretend to be inclusive and progressive when it is really about fitting in with fashions and getting funding.
Today's moderate is tomorrow's fundamentalist. The sun might rise every morning for a billion years but that has nothing to do with showing it will probably do the same tomorrow. It's a hard lesson but it is true. It is true of the human person. You can trust the religious moderate now but tomorrow is another day. The religious system they are in will always have more information and tradition and validity than them no matter how wrong it is. In a sense the human person is less predictable than the sun! Among the moderates, there are many who are fundamentalist and dangerous perhaps in one or two things. Moderates do not have clear boundaries so a person can be mistaken for a moderate easily.
A moderate who is simply not taking the faith seriously is not a moderate but a hypocrite.
If it is true that religion needs friendship with God then it follows that moderate Islam is an oxymoron.
